Insentif Latihan Amali (ILHAM), or Practical Training Incentives, is an ecosystem of internship incentives for employers by the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA).
ILHAM KESUMA helps to ensure quality internships, structured professional development, and fairness and equity, benefitting employers whilst encouraging them to nurture local talent through meaningful, structured, and paid internship programmes.
1. National Structured Internship Programme (MySIP) by TalentCorp: Employers who hire Malaysian full-time students from local IPTA or IPTS, including higher learning institutions abroad and TVET institutions, to undergo a structured internship programme endorsed by us will be eligible for a double tax deduction incentive for related expenses incurred on the interns throughout the programme. 2. Internship Placement Matching Grant for SMEs And Start-Ups (LiKES) by TalentCorp: An internship placement matching grant for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) companies and start-ups. 3. Industrial Training Scheme (ITS) by HRD Corp: ITS is a scheme that enables employers to utilise up to 50% of their levy balance to sponsor students from a university, college or training institution to undergo practical training at their organisation. This can be done in the form of offering a monthly internship allowance and any other items required by the intern to train at the organisation.
