TalentCorp Fosters Future Talent Development Through Graduate Employability Grant For Higher Learning Institutions

JOHOR BAHRU, 26 September – To cultivate a resilient Malaysia talent pool geared for the future, Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) today introduced the mynext Graduate Employability Grant, an innovative and data-driven initiative for Malaysian public higher learning institutions.

The soft launch event, held in conjunction with the Ministry of Human Resources’ (MOHR) Open Day (Hari Bertemu Pelanggan) at the PERSADA International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru was officiated by Tuan S. Siva Kumar, Undersecretary of the Policy Division in MOHR, in representation of the Honourable Minister of Human Resources.

 

YB Tuan V. Sivakumar, Minister of Human Resources in a speech read by Tuan S. Siva Kumar said that, the investment of RM 2 million by TalentCorp for this initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to enhancing students' career readiness and employability, addressing a key challenge of underemployment and career mismatch.

"I called on all local public universities to seize this opportunity to further improve the employability of our local graduates, with the goal of contributing to the development of a sustainable MADANI workforce," he added.
 

The mynext Graduate Employability Grant by TalentCorp is a three year initiative, and provides active IPTAs (Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam) with a maximum of RM100,000 Graduate Employability seed fund per institution. This funding will be made available to institutions that meet the collaboration model's requirements for maximum impact to their students.

 

During the soft launch, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Che Rozid Mamat, UTM’s Career Centre Director became the first IPTA to show commitment to the mynext Graduate Employability Grant for the benefit of their more than 32,000 students.

 

Thomas Mathew, TalentCorp Group CEO said that a key aim of the grant is to encourage students to make full use of the TalentCorp’s mynext platform, which provides psychometric assessments, internship opportunities, and a lifelong learning tool for their personal and professional development.

“TalentCorp's mynext Graduate Employability Grant represents a pivotal milestone in Malaysia's endeavour to cultivate a skilled and adaptable workforce. It also serves as our contribution to institutions with commendable plans for conducting activities but limited resources to execute them," he stated.
