TalentCorp Connects UK-Based Malaysian Professionals And Students With Opportunities At Home
KUALA LUMPUR, 20 March 2014 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) together with over 35 leading Malaysian employers will be participating in the UKEC-GRADUAN career fair on 30 March 2014 in London. In conjunction with this, TalentCorp will also be organising a series of networking sessions between leading Malaysian employers and Malaysian professionals, particularly bankers, accountants and engineers working in London.
“Through our engagement with Malaysian professionals and students, we often find that there appears to be a lack of awareness of the richness and availability of career opportunities in the priority sectors of our Economic Transformation Programme. For this reason, we have the best employers going to London to engage directly with our Malaysian talents based there, on the great opportunities back home,” said Johan Mahmood Merican, Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp.
UKEC-GRADUAN presents The Malaysian Career Fair
The Malaysian Career Fair is the largest annual employment event for Malaysians outside of Malaysia with more than 3,500 Malaysian students expected to attend. This year, the career fair will be officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and will be held at the Lancaster London Hotel on Sunday, 30 March 2014. Organised by the United Kingdom and Eire Council of Malaysian Students (UKEC), the largest representation of Malaysian students in the UK, in collaboration with GRADUAN, the career fair is a full-day event open to all Malaysians, particular students based in the UK.
“The Malaysian Career Fair 2014 as presented by UKEC-GRADUAN is celebrating its 10th anniversary, a major milestone for GRADUAN®. This is testimony on how effective the fair has been in terms of networking and exposing Malaysian talents in UK to the job market in Malaysia, and connecting our corporate partners with top talent,” said Elia Talib, Managing Director of GRADUAN.
The annual event aims to foster greater awareness and facilitate recruitment into the many career options available in Malaysia. Malaysian students are given the chance to learn about dynamic career opportunities with over 35 of Malaysia’s leading companies and organisations such as Petronas, Securities Commission Malaysia, Intel, Telekom Malaysia, Nestle, Sunway, EY, PwC, Maybank, and CIMB Group.
TalentCorp Professionals Networking Session
TalentCorp will be hosting a series of networking events to connect Malaysian professionals with representatives from leading companies across Malaysia’s major economic sectors, including the Financial Services and Engineering sectors, to explore scope for collaboration and the professional opportunities available in Malaysia. The TalentCorp Professionals Networking Sessions serve as ideal platforms for the creation of structured global networks which not only ease the search for professional opportunities by returning Malaysians, but also enable leading Malaysian companies to tap into a wider talent pool to meet their growing industry needs.
Taking place on Friday 28 March 2014, the first networking session will be held at the Chartered Accountants Hall, Moorgate for the accountants, while professionals in the Engineering and Finance sectors will have a chance to network with employers on Saturday 29 March 2014 at Lancaster London Hotel. The evening will also provide a good opportunity for the diaspora to connect with the latest updates on Malaysia, besides aiming to help establish channels for Malaysians to contribute from abroad, and potentially initiate conversations leading to new ideas for cross-border business and professional opportunities.
